Alcohol and Snowbird Split Referendums coming before Council
Staff Reports
Two items calling for referendums will be on the Council agenda this Thursday. One calls for splitting Cherokee County and Snowbird. The other would propose alcohol sales on Cherokee land.
Snowbird has been seeking separate council representation, an action that has been repeated rejected by Principal Chief Michell Hicks. Council majority was never enough to override his vetoes.
Legal alcohol sales have come up over previous years. The latest has been proposals from the casino to allow its sale there.
