News Website Starts Coverage of Eastern Band of Cherokee
Special to Cherokee Times Online
After being ousted from his position as Editor of the Cherokee One Feather after serving 11 years in the position, R. Joseph Martin is continuing his devotion to providing tribal members with news from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
“I did some soul searching after that fateful event,” Martin said. “After contemplating several options, I decided why not continue what I started. This time, the muzzle will be off and no one will be holding the leash.”
Martin plans coverage of Tribal Council and actions taken by the Eastern Band’s executive branch.
“Tribal members deserve to be informed, and they need sources other than that provided by the tribal government’s PR machine. The more diverse the sources, the more informed tribal members can become.”
